Opor Ayam

In this section we will share some recipe of Indonesian’s favourite dishes, and today’s recipe is ‘Opor Ayam’.
Opor ayam (chicken cooked in coconut milk) is originated from Central Java. Most families serve opor ayam to celebrate Eid Day. You can serve opor ayam with hot steam rice.
You can buy Opor Ayam instant seasoning in Indonesian store (near Okubo station)
Ingredients
4-8 pieces chicken
400 ml water
200 ml coconut milk / heavy cream
Opor Ayam Instant Seasoning
fried shallots for garnish
Instructions
Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a pot and stir fry the instant seasoning paste until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the chicken pieces and cook until chicken is no longer pink.
Add water and coconut milk and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is reduced, about 20 minutes. Add salt and/or sugar as needed.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fried shallots.
